Please note, this is a test page and you can not yet make a data request to Doncaster Local Records Centre through My LERC. Please make data requests through our website: https://www.doncaster.gov.uk/services/planning/accessing-biological-recordsWho are we?Doncaster Local Records Centre (DLRC) is the Local Environmental Records Centre (LERC) for City of Doncaster Borough. DLRC is a Local Environmental Records Centre, hosted by City of Doncaster Council. We are an active member of the Association of Local Environmental Records Centres and have been accredited since 2015.We collate, manage and analyse raw data about species, sites and habitats from a large variety of sources. This information is incorporated into DLRC’s evidence base, which is used by planning authorities, developers and conservation bodies to inform decisions about land use and management. We also work closely with local naturalists and societies, professional ecologists, statutory bodies and academic institutions to facilitate legitimate research and support projects in the fields of conservation and sustainable development.DLRC is proud to be associated with the Yorkshire Naturalists’ Union and Doncaster Naturalists' Society, both among the longest-established natural history organisations in the UK. Along with the other LERCs in Yorkshire we are part of the Yorkshire Environmental Data Network, working together to provide data services at a regional scale. What do we provide? Our professional ecological data search service provides local site boundaries, habitat and species information to inform Planning Applications, Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Management Plans, Farm Environment Plans and Woodland Creation Schemes, amongst other things. If you are unsure whether you require ecological information within our area, please use the ALERC Find your LERC page to check. We work in partnership with some of our neighbouring LERCs to provide a cost effective cross-boundary service for Ecological Data Searches. For those that extend into West Yorkshire and/or North and East Yorkshire you will only be charged by the LERC which covers the majority of the search area, however you will need to contact all relevant LERCs for data. We are currently considering cross-boundary agreements with other neighbouring LRCs. What data do we hold?We hold over 575,000 wildlife records of flora and fauna in the Doncaster Borough plus information about local sites such as Local Wildlife Sites, Local Geological Sites, Local Nature Reserves and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Reserves. If you want data outside our area, please use the ALERC Find your LERC page.We collect these data from skilled volunteer recorders, the general public, professionals working for wildlife charities, professionals working for government agencies (the Environment Agency & local authorities) and ecological consultants.
