Cofnod - North Wales Environmental Information Service Logo
Cofnod collects, collates and manages environmental data, providing it through a range of products to inform decision-making in planning, development and wildlife conservation. We are a not-for-profit company, accredited by the Association of Local Environmental Records Centres (ALERC).

What do we do?
We provide environmental information to a range of clients including ecological consultants, utility companies, conservation bodies, land-owners, students and many others. To request data please use our Data Request page, which will let us know who you are and what you require. Once we've received your request we will deliver results using our fast and reliable service, presented through our unique online mapping tool eMapper.

What data do we hold?
We hold the largest database of wildlife records in our region, gathered from a range of volunteer and professional recorders across North Wales. We also hold habitat data and a range of statutory and non-statutory sites data. All this information is collated into our standard search packages. You can find out our current species record total and full dataset information by visiting our Datasets page. Or if you're interested in similar services offered by other LERCs outside our area, you can use the ALERC Find your LERC tool.
