Note: The prices shown from allow point and polygon/line search areas and the price will depend upon the size of the area you wish to search.
Herefordshire Council ecology department recommends that planning applications for building developments consider existing records for at least 2 km² area around the site of the application

• Package A1 – from £225 + VAT: 1km P&N and INNS species, Sites, Habitats – Legally protected, priority, conservation concern, locally important and invasive non-native species records, Statutory and non-Statutory sites, BAP Priority and Phase 1 habitats within 1km

• Package A2 – from £267 + VAT: 2km P&N and INNS species, Sites, Habitats – Legally protected, priority, conservation concern, locally important and invasive non-native species records, Statutory and non-Statutory sites, BAP Priority and Phase 1 habitats within 2km

• Package B1 – from £138 + VAT: 1km P&N Species, Local Sites – Legally protected, priority, conservation concern and locally important species records, non-Statutory sites within 1km

• Package B2 – from £152 + VAT: 2km P&N Species, Local Sites – Legally protected, priority, conservation concern and locally important species records, non-Statutory sites within 2km

• Package E – from £138 + VAT: EWCO - 1km P&N species, Local Sites, Phase 1 Habitats – England Woodland Creation Offer - Legally protected, priority, conservation concern and locally important species records, non-Statutory sites, Phase 1 Habitats within 1km

Custom Searches
Although you can specify a Custom Search these usually take time to agree and are no cheaper than our Standard Data Search Packages, so we will always recommend these. For example, if you request bats only at 1km we will recommend our 1km standard package, as the way the way the data are presented will allow you to filter for just what you need.

Where we carry out a data search and no data is found we will charge an administration fee of 50% of the original quoted cost.

Some of our Data Request Types may be non-chargeable. These include Public and Academic requests.

Public requests are fulfilled through the following package:

• Package P – No Charge: Public Search – This package provides a species list of non-sensitive species 500m from the search location

Academic requests will need to be verified by us, usually by giving proof that you are studying or researching at University or College and that your request is linked to your academic studies or research.

You can request data at any time, but we will usually only deal with your request between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Thursday.

• Standard Data Search Packages will be dealt with within one working day, Monday-Thursday, however you will usually receive your data request results within two hours.
• Custom Data Requests will be responded to within five working days, Monday-Thursday and we will deliver search results within ten working days, Monday-Thursday of agreeing your requirements and the price quoted.

Once we have processed your data request we will send the results by email, which will either include a link to our online mapping tool eMapper or for 'Public' requests a link to an Excel Spreadsheet. We cannot provide GIS files via our Standard Data Search Packages; if you require search results in this format, please email us to arrange a Service Level Agreement.

eMapper is our easy-to-use online mapping tool which includes the following features:

• Interactive mapping of species, habitats and sites on a range of base maps including OS 1:25,000 maps, Aerial Photos, OpenStreetMap and more
• Customisable display of species records and sites, allowing you to create and print your own map
• A range of easy-to-use filters to select data by year, distance or resolution, or to create a simple species list
• Display data using our 'Public' or 'Confidential' display modes and download records in PDF or Excel formats

What data are included?
With the exception of Public data requests, our reports may include sensitive species records, the use of which is governed by our Terms and Conditions.

Our Standard Data Search Packages include the following data:

• Protected & Notable Species: Species with European and/or UK Legal Protection, Section 41 (Natural Environment & Rural Communities Act 2006) Species, UK BAP Priority Species, Global Red List, British Red Data Book, RSPB Red and Amber Birds, Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) Species, and Butterfly Conservation West Midlands High & Medium Priority Species
• Invasive Non-native Species (INNS): As defined by the United Kingdom Species Inventory (UKSI)
• Habitats: Phase 1 Habitats, UK BAP Priority Habitats (includes data from HBRC mapping project - where Natural England National Inventory BAP Priority Habitats data and HBRC BAP Priority Habitats data overlap, HBRC data has been supplied. This is because HBRC data is considered to be more reliable)
• Statutory sites: Special Areas of Conservation (SAC), Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), National Nature Reserves (NNR), Local Nature Reserves (LNR)
• Non-statutory sites: Local Wildlife Sites (SWS/SINC), Local Geological Sites (LGS), Herefordshire Wildlife Trust Reserves, Roadside Verge Nature Reserves
• Documents: Ecological Reports from surveys previously carried out within the search area

For Chargeable data requests an invoice will be sent by Herefordshire Council once the request has been fulfilled; the Council handle all financial administration on behalf of HBRC. If the invoice needs to be sent to someone other than yourself (e.g. Accounts Department) you can create a billing contact as part of the data request. If your company uses a specific email address to which invoices should be sent (e.g. invoices@), please ensure this is also specified in your request.

If your company uses Purchase Order Numbers, please ensure that you obtain one before making your request, otherwise this can cause delays.
