• Package E5 – £330 + VAT: 5km Ecological Networks, Species, Sites, Habitats – Protected & Priority Species, INNS, Stat & Non-stat Sites, Priority Habitats + Ecological Networks

Protected & Priority Species are those with European and/or UK Legal Protection, Section 42 (NERC Act 2006) Species, UK BAP Priority Species, Global Red List, British Red Data Book, Nationally Rare & Scarce, RSPB Red and Amber Birds, Welsh Vascular Plant Red Data List, Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) Species, Locally Important Species as identified by local experts.

N.B. Requesting data outside standard packages will require a Custom Search. These will be quoted separately and may be provided in a different format and within a different timescale than the Standard Packages.

The package shown below is free of charge and for use by Landowners seeking a simple species list. This could be useful in accompanying data already provided by the Land App or Magic.gov - Consultants or agents working on behalf of a Landowner should now use the commercial data request options.

• Package L1 – No Charge: Landowner species search – A simple species list to allow land owners to know what wildlife they have within their boundaries

Other data requests for Landowners made on behalf by an agent or consultant are now considered commercial and should go through the commercial data search request option.

The package shown below is free of charge and for use by members of the public seeking a simple species list that gives insight to the wildlife found in an area of interest.

• Package N1 – No Charge: Non-Commercial search – This is a free service to allow members of the public or interested parties to obtain a simple species list for any given area of Somerset

Other data requests for Landowners made on behalf by an agent or consultant are now considered commercial and should go through the commercial data search request option.

The package shown below is for use only by Parish Councils seeking environmental information to support a Parish Plan.

• Package P1 – £60 + VAT: Parish Council – Protected & Priority Species, INNS, Priority Habitats, Sites

Other data requests from Parish Councils should be made via the SERC Website.

This search type is only for use by SERC authorised users. You will need to contact SERC (data.supply@somerc.com) and get their permission to use this search type before submitting your request.

Other data searches not covered by Commercial, Parish, Partnership, Landowner, or Non-Chargeable should be made via the SERC Website.

We aim to provide

• Standard Data Search packages within one working day, often within a few hours.
• We will respond to a Custom Data Search request between one and three working days with a quotation, subject to workload and complexity. Note that this may be extended if we need more information to clarify your requirements.
• Depending on the type of Custom Data Search, if it can be processed via eMapper it will be delivered within one working day of acceptance of the quotation. Delivery time of other searches will be specified in the quotation.

Commercial search packages include the following:

• Statutory sites: Special Protection Areas (SPA), Special Areas of Conservation (SAC), Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), National Nature Reserves (NNR), Local Nature Reserves (LNR)
• Local Non-statutory sites: Local Wildlife Sites (LWS), Local Geology Sites (LGS).
• Habitats:Priority Habitats, Ancient Woodlands (Ancient & Semi-natural Woodland and Replanted Ancient Woodland sites).
• Protected and Priority Species records: Protected species, Species of Principal Importance, Red Data Book, Nationally Scarce, Birds of Conservation Concern, Locally important species etc. Records for all years are provided; these can be filtered by date if required.
• Invasive Non-native Species records: Records of species that are known to be invasive non-natives, these are species that have potential impact and control issues. For more information, visit the GB non-native species secretariat website. Information is based on the following statuses:
  - Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, Parts 1 and 2 (excluding native species listed in Parts 1A and 1B)
  - The UK Water Framework Directive Technical Advisory Group’s invasive species list
  - Species for which alerts have been issued by the GB non-native species secretariat
  

• Ecological Networks (only supplied with relevant packages): Broadleaved Woodland, Heath & Acid Grassland, Species Rich Grassland and Wetlands, catagorised as a Core, Dispersal or Stepping Stone Ecological Network.
  

Standard Data Searches and some Custom Data Searches will be delivered online via eMapper which provides many useful features including:

• Interactive mapping of species and sites on Ordnance Survey Maps, Aerial Photos and other background layers
• Customisable display of species records
• Filter records by year, distance, resolution, species list and more
• Downloadable maps, and species records in PDF and Excel formats

Using eMapper you have the ability to customise your own reports in PDF or Excel format, using all the data or a filtered subset.

SERC's Data Request process is delivered in partnership with Cofnod. For chargeable data requests an invoice will be sent by email once the request has been fulfilled. If you wish the invoice to be sent to someone other than yourself (e.g. Accounts Payable Department) you can "create a billing contact" as part of the data request. If your company uses a specific email address to which invoices should be sent (e.g. Invoices@), please ensure this is specified in your request.

Payments should be made to LERC Online (details below), please do not make payments Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC).

If your company uses Purchase Order Numbers, please ensure that you obtain this before making your request.
